Open Door Dinner
For almost 20 years, All Souls Parish has offered food and hospitality to over 100 of the hungry in our community on the second Sunday of each month, when we host the Open Door Dinner. Teams take turns offering Sunday dinner complete with flowers and tablecloths. The preparers and servers include teens, children and their parents, and other adults, some of whom make this an opportunity to engage in conversation with guests whom they might not encounter in their daily lives. The weekly meals are offered on a rotating basis by several faith communities in Berkeley.
Ready to serve at the Open Door Dinner
We invite you to help at the Open Door Dinner, our monthly meal to feed the hungry in our community. Volunteer to greet our guests in the courtyard beginning at 2:00 p.m. or come to the Parish Hall and kitchen to help set up, prep, and cook for the 4:00 p.m. meal. The dinner cooking teams also clean up afterward, beginning at 5:00 p.m. The Open Door Dinner is a ministry of the Outreach Committee of All Souls. Please contact our Deacon, the Rev. Mary Hintz if you would like to be a member of a regular team.
